And got some letters. We also got some parts for the X90; door handles, seat belts, and a shifter bezel out of an ‘01 Grand Vitara and sun visors out of a ‘98 Ford Escort (which surprisingly fit in the X90)
Also finally got the mechanic to come look at it. Its got a blown head gasket, and possibly a warped head and block. Gonna rebuild it once our tax refunds come in. Then its gonna be my GF’s daily

So what’s the scrap value of a GF?

I am guessing the standard $0.50 per lb?

If the X90 engine is too far gone, is there a chance you could get a kit like this and swap in a more common Vitara 2.0L engine? Doesn’t seem TOO expensive?

I now want to go to the junkyard, gather a bunch of letters, and make an awesome set of fridge magnets.

You should, it’s lots of fun walking around a Junkyard, I do it when I’m bored on a nice staurday afternoon.

Its not too far gone. But coolant got into places that it shouldn’t have, so I have to do main bearings, rod bearings and cam bearings, probably mill the head and the block. So the pistons have to come out, might as well do a 75% rebuild.

Alrighty! Just offering options! :)
